About

Internet Week Denmark is an annual festival taking place in and around Aarhus. The festival is held May 9 - 13, 2016. More than 5000 participants will attend over 100 events - talks, workshops, debates, hackathons, and exhibitions.

The festival celebrates the success and the impact of the internet on innovation, business, and our everyday lives. The backbone of Internet Week Denmark is a weeklong festival based on crowdsourced events. This means that companies, educational institutions, networks, and individuals contribute by hosting events during the festival. It is a great week of knowledge-sharing, learning, social meetings and networking. The events will be held in private companies, educational institutions and several tracks will be hosted in the Internet Week Denmark headquarter, Dokk1 (the new Library and Citizens' Services at Aarhus Harbour).

The festival is first and foremost for professionals. Through activities and events the festival supports growth and jobs, facilitates innovation and organizes meetings between investors and start-ups. Internet Week Denmark is a week of talks, debates, workshops, and hackathons for professionals and students.

However, Internet Week Denmark is also a public festival, engaging citizens in digital development and facilitating public debates about digitalization and the future smart city. It is crucial for both growth, democracy and the welfare model to educate and engage citizens digitally and thereby create the foundation for the entire Smart City mindset.
It is a festival open for everyone, just like the internet is an open platform for everyone.
